A used ticket for a February 2 1963 performance at the Gaumont Cinema Bradford,
the opening night of the Beatles' first national tour. Their repertoire that night
included Keep Your Hands Off My Baby, A Taste of Honey, and Please Please Me.

This is a genuine and beloved but battered signed Beatles postcard. My father celeb photographer Clive Arrowsmith (www.clivearrowsmith.com went on to work a lot with Paul McCartney shooting the classic 'Band on The Run' album cover and to photograph George Harrison with Ravi Shankar) and my mother Lesley Arrowsmith were both at Associated Redefusion Studios in Holborn in London where my Father was a graphic designer for the popular music programme 'Ready, Steady, Go'. My Father also went to college in Liverpool and knew The Beatles from that time and that is why the card is addressed to Spike and Lesley as that is the nick name that my father had at the time. The card is also signed on the back by Helen Shapiro who appeared on the same show as The Beatles that week. At the time no one would believe that my Dad actually already new The Beatles and he was very gratified when they all arrived and called him 'Spike'

The Beatles were a relatively-unknown act when they made their debut
at the Sunderland Empire on February 9, and were bottom of the bill.
